So I’ll be honest—I spent a very long time figuring out how everyone on Instagram was creating those super smooth transition videos. You know the ones I’m talking about. The background just disappears, everything is perfectly synced with the music, and it looks like they hired a real editor.
Turns out, they didn’t. They’re using the Epic Transitions CapCut template, and after playing with it last week, I finally figured out why it’s everywhere.

Here’s how you actually use it
I’m going to walk you through it the same way I wish someone had explained it to me.
First, find the template. This part was confusing at first because there are about a million epic transition templates floating around. What I did was check out the epic transition tutorial on promptscene.com – they keep their template links updated and actually test them before posting, which saves you from clicking on broken links. Look for the “Use Template” button which automatically opens CapCut.
Then, select your photo. Once you tap that button, CapCut will open and ask you to select your media. Here’s something I learned the hard way: Use high-quality photos. AI Cutout works best when your lighting is good and the image is clear. Blurry photos from 2018 aren’t going to cut it.
Let it process. The app will probably take 10-15 seconds to load all the effects. This is when it’s adding zooms, adding glitches, and syncing everything to the beat. Just let it do its thing.
Preview stuff and fix it. Press ‘Play’ and watch it all. Sometimes the transition will come at an awkward moment – like a blink or something – so you can tap that clip and either change it or crop it in a different way. Once it looks good, hit export.
One thing that confused me: Make sure you select “Export without watermark”. It will save to your camera roll and then automatically try to open TikTok (you can turn TikTok off if you’re posting to Instagram instead).
What Really Makes Videos Go Viral (From What I’ve Seen)
It’s great to have templates, but I just posted 15 of these and there’s definitely a pattern to which ones perform really well.
Your first clip matters more than anything else. I’m talking about the first 1-2 seconds. If that first photo or video doesn’t immediately catch your eye, people will scroll on before seeing your best changes. Use your best shot first.
Match the energy. It seems obvious, but I’ve seen people use the Epic Transitions template with cool coffee shop photos. This doesn’t work. This template is high-energy by design, so use it for travel content, outfit changes, fitness progress, or anything with activity and drama.
The VPN thing (if you’re in India). My friend in Mumbai kept getting error messages while trying to load the template. Found out that CapCut is banned in some regions. If you’re having trouble, turn on your VPN before clicking the template link. That usually fixes it.

Does it cost money? No, the template is completely free. CapCut has some premium features, but templates are not part of it.
Why can’t I find the “Use Template” button? Check if your app is updated. I had this issue last month and it was because I was running an older version of CapCut. Update it through the App Store or Google Play.
Can you change the music? Technically yes, but here’s what I do instead: I mute the template’s audio inside CapCut, export it, and then add the trending audio directly to Instagram Reels or TikTok. This way you are using sounds that have already been processed by the algorithm.

Look, I’m not saying that this template will make you go viral overnight. But this is the easiest way I’ve found to make your content look more professional without spending hours editing. My viewing time went up, my savings went up, and I’m actually enjoying creating content again instead of dreading the editing part.
